Paul Barber Foundation

In addition to my lifelong enthusiasm for design, I am also very passionate about philanthropy.  The Paul Barber Foundation is a charitable foundation that I run with my brother. It is named after our late father who spent his life giving back to others.

Building a New Brand

Services

Logo Design, Branding, UX/UI Design, Website Build (Webflow)

The Problem

The foundation came together pretty quickly, before everything was fully figured out. That meant building a brand that could work right away, but wouldn’t feel limiting as the foundation evolved.

We also needed a website to match that approach, initially being an informational site, but evolving to have a two-phase application system within the website.

Results

  • A logo that can stand alone as an icon, but also works well as a complete word mark

  • A friendly and inviting colour palette that is accessible for web

  • A website that has evolved with our needs, to eventually include an application submission process

  • Custom icons to match the look and feel of the brand and website

PROCESS

BRANDING: Clean, modern, and flexible

I kept the identity clean and minimal so it could grow with the foundation as its direction and programs became clearer.

My own personal requirements included:

  • AA accessibility

  • A logo that can stand alone as an icon, but also works well as a complete word mark

ICONS: Adding depth to the brand

As I built out the website, I continued to develop the visual identity with icons.
